Cargo Operations Officer- Hong Kong

We are recruiting for Cargo Operations Officer for Hong Kong. The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring smooth cargo operations at the station/ region through close coordination with the GHA’s and staff within the station/ region. Continuously monitor and develop adherence to regulations outlined by local authorities and regulatory bodies and ensure strict compliance to IATA regulations for effective movement of inbound and outbound cargo whilst reducing operation costs involved. Accountabilities: Responsible for supervision and control of a functional area/station that has a direct impact on operations. Liaise with external service providers to ensure the operation is safe, secure, compliant and efficient; has satisfactory performance and services provided are up to Qatar Airways standards and expectation. Assist shippers and consignees with information related to their shipment. Provides general representation on behalf of Qatar Airways when dealing with external service providers including but not limited to Ground Handling Agent/Cargo Agents, Freight Forwards, Airlines, and other entities locally, in coordination with QR headquarters, as required. Liaise with Line Manager and Qatar Airways Regional Cargo Management or Head Office of any Customs/Government regulation change that may affect services and the operation. Liaise with Line Manager and Qatar Airways Regional Cargo Management or Head Office if any cargo ‘backlog’ situation develops. Ensure external service providers providing services to Qatar Airways are qualified, and their training complies with the local State or Government regulations as well as with Qatar Airways Cargo requirements. Report operational Safety, Security and Occupational Health Safety (OHS) related hazards and any incident within cargo operations in Rolls Royce SMS Solutions system or Confidential reporting. Escalation of safety, security, regulatory, quality, operational and service issues and risks to Qatar Airways regional management or headquarters, to include sub-standard performance. Continued monitoring of the external service providers at the assigned station, through various means, to ensure their performance meets regulatory requirements as well as safety, security, quality, operational and service standard as defined by Qatar Airways. Together, everything is possible High school qualification/ Vocational Qualification/ Diploma or Equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience Knowledge of Air Cargo Operations is a must Detailed knowledge of IATA Cargo Handling You must have the legal rights to live and work in Hong Kong to be considered for this role.
