Job Description - Project Co-ordinator II Y0) Job Description Description Department of Physics Project Co-ordinator II The MSc Programme in Advanced Materials Science, jointly offered by the Departments of Physics and Chemistry, is recruiting a Project Co-ordinator II to support programme administration. The appointee will assist the Programme Directors in coordinating programme-related matters and be responsible for (a) providing administrative and secretarial support for the postgraduate programme, including budget planning, admissions, promotional activities, registration, course planning, class scheduling and timetabling, curriculum revisions, examinations, and handling student enquiries; (b) organising academic and student activities; (c) liaising with internal academic and administrative units of the University, as well as external parties; (d) supporting the daily operations of the programme and handling student matters; (e) compiling admissions data and preparing statistical reports; and (f) performing other duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned. Qualifications Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) at least 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in postgraduate programme administration and handling student affairs; (iii) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) strong problem-solving and organisational skills; (v) good interpersonal skills, a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; (vi) the ability to multitask, work independently and proactively under tight deadlines; and (vii) proficiency in computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Chinese word-processing. Having work experience in tertiary institutions and in postgraduate programme administration would be an advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test. Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
