Business Development Market Research Manager – APAC (Rare Disease & Biotech Partnerships) Location: Singapore or Hong Kong preferred (Australia also considered) Hybrid working – flexible About the Role We are hiring a Business Development Market Research Manager to join a growing APAC Business Development team and support the expansion of highly innovative rare disease and oncology therapies across the region. This is a strategic and analytical role—not a traditional market research function. You will be the first dedicated market research professional in the team , working alongside BD to identify, assess, and help secure new biotech partnerships across APAC, with a strong focus on China, Singapore and Hong Kong . You’ll combine scientific insight, commercial analysis, and early market evaluation to shape opportunities that bring breakthrough treatments to patients across Asia-Pacific. If you’re passionate about science, partnerships, and shaping access to innovative therapies—this is a unique opportunity to make a real impact. Lead market research and opportunity assessment to identify new biotech partners and innovative assets across APAC (including rare disease and oncology). Drive evaluation of BD opportunities across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Greater China. Conduct primary and secondary research covering clinical landscape, unmet need, competition, pricing/reimbursement, and market pathways. Engage external stakeholders (including KOLs, HCPs, hospitals) to validate insights and inform BD decision‑making. Support the full BD process—from early screening and due diligence to business case creation and deal support. Consolidate insights into strategic recommendations for BD leadership and global stakeholders. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the APAC biotech and pharma landscape, uncovering future opportunities for regional expansion. Partner with internal teams (Medical, Market Access, Commercial, Regional Managers) to ensure robust and holistic evaluations of potential assets. Produce clear, concise research summaries and presentations for internal and external use. Education & Experience At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: Pharma/Biotech (commercial, medical, BD or market access) Financial or market analysis in healthcare Business Development support roles APAC & China Expertise Must have hands‑on experience in APAC healthcare/pharma market , including evaluation of innovative treatments. Experience working across APAC markets (Singapore, Hong Kong, ANZ, Greater China). Fluency in Mandarin and English – essential.
