Part‑time Research Assistant(s) (E&L) (25002QE) School of Education and Languages Job Description The appointee(s) will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project "Exploring communication skills in physiotherapy students: A mixed‑method study". Major Duties and Responsibilities Assisting in video‑recording physiotherapy consultations (students and experienced physiotherapists) during clinical placements and in real clinical settings; Transcribing and translating (Cantonese ↔ English) audio/video recordings verbatim; Conducting preliminary coding and discourse analysis of consultation transcripts using systemic functional linguistics framework; Assisting in recruitment, scheduling, and conducting semi‑structured interviews with students, faculty, practitioners, and patients; Transcribing and performing initial thematic coding of interview data using NVivo; Helping with literature search, reference management, and preparation of reports/manuscripts; Performing general administrative and logistic support for the project; Performing any other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator. Candidates Should Possess the Following Qualifications, Experience, and Competence A Bachelor’s degree or above in Physiotherapy, Linguistics, Communication Studies, Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, or a related discipline; Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese (knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage); Experience in transcription, qualitative data analysis, or discourse analysis is highly desirable; Familiarity with NVivo, or similar software is an advantage; Strong sense of responsibility, good organizational and communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
