Job Description - Associate, Data/Business Analyst (Deposit, Payment and Secured Lending), Consumer Banking (2500002I)

Working with a team of analytics professionals responsible for driving product analytics to drive business and customer outcomes in DBS Hong Kong Consumer Banking Group, you will initiate, design, develop, and implement data-driven solutions to deliver meaningful, relevant, and intuitive customer experiences across products, segments, and channels. Responsibilities

  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and regional Data Chapter analytics professionals, to identify opportunities to deliver data-driven initiatives aligned with Managing through Journey (MtJ) goals and objectives.
  • Employ advanced analytics techniques and leverage machine learning algorithms to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities that inform and enhance business decision-making.
  • Champion the adoption of data visualization practices to establish effective monitoring mechanisms aligned with Data-Driven Operating Model (DDOM) principles and analytics frameworks, and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Identify key business priorities and develop analytical frameworks and AI/ML solutions to derive insights and actionable recommendations. Establish and assess the success metrics and outcomes to ensure the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to explore and develop innovative solutions and models utilizing AI, machine learning, and generative AI techniques. Actively participate in experimentation throughout the implementation and evaluation phases, providing feedback on model accuracy and reliability.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in AI/ML solutions both within and outside the organization. Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive the adoption of practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement new workflows across various domains to ensure data quality, enhance operational efficiency, and promote best practices throughout the organization.
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks as assigned, participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements, and contribute to projects such as data transformation and migration initiatives.

Requirements

  • University graduate in Business Analytics, Management Science, Statistics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 4 years of data analytics/AIML related experience with a strong understanding of the Banking industry or financial institution highly desirable.
  • Strong technical expertise in data analytics tools and AI/ML or Generative AI technologies and programming skills, e.g., SQL, Python, R, data visualization (e.g., QlikSense or equivalent tools), and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), with an understanding of application to financial data.
  • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of statistical methodologies. Good knowledge in data management is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex financial data and analytics outputs into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and influence a diverse team of analytics professionals and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating across functions, building strong relationships, and driving data-driven initiatives.
  • Effective storytelling, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
