What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain React + TypeScript applications for order entry, blotters, dashboards, and risk/position views Implement real‑time, event‑driven UIs (WebSockets/streaming) that handle large, rapidly updating datasets with low latency Build reusable component libraries and contribute to a shared design system Optimize virtualization, memorization, concurrency, network efficiency, and rendering strategies Integrate with market data, OMS/EMS, and internal APIs, and shape contracts with backend engineers Write reliable tests (unit, integration, E2E) and deliver features via CI/CD pipelines, leveraging feature flags and robust monitoring Collaborate with traders and product partners to gather requirements, run demos, and iterate quick solutions Maintain engineering best practices in code reviews, documentation, security, and accessibility Modernize and interoperate with Angular‑based applications Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and contribute to technical roadmaps What’s Required 5+ years building modern web applications with 3+ years with React and TypeScript in production Track record of delivering complex UIs for trading, market data, or other real‑time domains such as finance, ad‑tech, gaming, or IoT Deep fluency in TypeScript, React hooks, state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, MobX, or RxJS), and component architecture Ability to build high‑performance data grids, charts, and dashboards, and comfortable with virtualization and diffing strategies Experience with streaming patterns such as WebSockets and Server‑Sent Events, and familiarity with reactive programming concepts and tools such as Observables and RxJS Proficient with testing tools and modern build tooling such as Vite/Webpack, ESLint, and/or Prettier Solid understanding of the browser rendering pipeline, async patterns, Web Workers, local storage, security best practices Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate trader needs into specs, reduce ambiguity, and drive alignment across engineering, product, and UX Strong problem‑solving skills, ownership mindset, and calm execution under time‑sensitive conditions Commitment to the highest ethical standards WE TAKE CARE OF OUR PEOPLE Health care benefits Generous parental and family leave policies Volunteer opportunities Support for employee‑led affinity groups representing women, people of color and the LGBT+ community Mental and physical wellness programs Tuition assistance About Point72 Point72 is a leading global alternative investment firm led by Steven A.
