Oracle DBA

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for providing 24 x 7 production database support, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and reliability of mission-critical database systems. The role involves day-to-day monitoring, new environment setup, database patching, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and compliance with enterprise security standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct daily health checks, capacity monitoring, performance diagnostics, and incident resolution. Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software according to system architecture, security standards, and operational guidelines. Execute database patching, PSU/RU upgrades, and implement best-practice change management processes. Perform database cloning for development, testing, and support environments. Plan, manage, and validate database backup and recovery using RMAN and enterprise backup tools. Implement Real Application Cluster (RAC), Oracle Database Vault, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and key management integration. Design and implement table partitioning, indexing strategies, and database schema optimizations. Configure and maintain Unified Auditing to meet compliance and audit requirements. Perform deep performance tuning of SQL, memory, storage, and system resources. Participate in disaster recovery planning, Data Guard configuration, testing, and failover procedures. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and DevOps teams to support system deployment and troubleshooting. Prepare documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer to internal teams. Preferred Experience / Advantage Experience integrating Oracle with HSM (Hardware Security Module) for TDE key storage Experience setting up Splunk, ELK, or other SIEM/SOAR tools for DB log monitoring. Experience in high-availability architectures (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Flashback, etc.). Experience in Oracle Multi-tenant daily operations. Required Qualifications & Skills Requirement Description Experience Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience administering Oracle Database environments (11g, 12c, 19c or later). Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline. Technical Skills: Strong SQL, RMAN, OEM, Data Guard, performance tuning, database security, backup strategy. Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative team attitude. Others: Ability to work under pressure, support critical systems, and participate in on-call rotation.
