Location: Wan Chai District, Hong Kong Job title: Senior Designer/ Design Lead Reports to: Studio Director Type of position: Full‑time General Description: This position is currently one of the most senior design positions in the firm. As a primary protagonist in developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with our clients and business partners, the Senior Designer is a key functionary in attaining One Space’s long‑term goals. He/she is expected to build One Space’s design excellence and project delivery capability for our projects. There is an emphasis on leading the process of design and implementation, whilst mentoring the design team towards innovation and rich interdisciplinarity. The successful candidate will join our interior design team to help deliver innovative design solutions using CAD drawings, presentation graphics, interior materials and textiles, and other media for a range of clients and sectors in Hong Kong, Singapore and the region. His/her focus will be on generating creative solutions within an assigned project or projects and assisting in their development. The role will usually allow the candidate to carry through projects to execution, entailing technical resolution of conceptual ideas, with support from more senior design teammates. The role will take ownership and day‑to‑day responsibility for more than one project at any given time. Role: To develop One Space capability in, and to produce, design excellence in every area of its endeavours, taking primary responsibility for specific design decisions To develop and lead projects assigned to you to successful completion To communicate directly with clients, contractors, landlords, building management officers and others, taking responsibility for these interactions towards project delivery (This process is sometimes, but not always, led by a Project Manager.) To liaise with external Project Managers and the internal team to deliver integrated solutions To champion the One Space methodology and to mentor Designers and Design Assistants towards continuing learning and professional growth Key Skills: Creativity, with an emphasis on integrated, requirements‑driven design solutions Lateral‑thinking and problem‑solving skills, with an emphasis on innovation Critical thinking and good judgement in assessing alternatives Self‑motivated, organised and able to work under deadline pressure Proficiency in the language and rhetoric of design and architecture, and able to work iteratively and harmoniously within our team of designers. Good communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness and ability to learn and teach others in design and technology Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Sketch‑Up, Adobe Creative Suite and Enscape. Use of Revit and/or 3Ds Max will be an advantage Written & spoken fluency in English and Cantonese are essential. Competency in spoken Mandarin is an advantage. Can produce original conceptual ideas and engages in creative problem‑solving Communicates ideas openly and thrives on collaboration Enthusiastic, reliable and eager to learn Work experience requirements: Minimum 8‑10 years’ experience in interior design or a related field Good understanding of construction detailing and materials Experience in preparation of interior working drawings Relevant work experience in Asia‑Pacific region is a plus Strong network and connection with project managers, property developers and corporations are an advantage Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree preferred; Higher Diploma is acceptable If you think you have the right skills and experience for this role, we’d love to hear from you #J-18808-Ljbffr
