Overview Assistant Manager / Senior Officer - Business Development (Retail Distribution / General Insurance) at Zurich Insurance. Primary responsibility is to act as the key handler for new and renewal business for key/growth accounts within the Retail Services of General Insurance, working with Relationship Managers to grow and maintain portfolios and improve conversion, while ensuring excellent service to intermediaries. Responsibilities Manage key stakeholders' expectations by collaborating with relationship managers to establish enduring long-term relationships with key/growth accounts; provide quotations/proposals in line with market trends and profitability. Write New Business and Renewal Business for assigned key/growth accounts in partnership with Relationship Managers. Develop and manage relationships with key/growth accounts to influence them to do business with the organization. Evaluate opportunities to optimize profitable sales and retention and achieve business targets. Work with the distribution team to explore new business and secure existing business; coordinate tenders and identify cross-sell opportunities. Maintain knowledge of the company\'s risk and compliance policies relevant to the role; escalate discrepancies as appropriate. Provide pre- and post-sales services to key/growth accounts, including policy term clarifications, handling inquiries and complaints, and processing certificate and policy documents. Collaborate with the underwriting team on renewal terms and quotations, offering market-aware solutions for local dynamics and risk assessment. Stay updated on market changes related to compliance and regulatory requirements; ensure distribution operations align with policies. Support operations to enhance sales operations and maximize efficiency. Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Insurance Studies; preferably 6+ years in the insurance industry. Familiarity with General Insurance products, preferably Retail insurance. Insurance Professional Qualification is a plus. Strong customer handling, communication, and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, independent, polite, capable of working under pressure with high accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Good communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese required; Mandarin advantageous). Candidates with less experience may be considered for Senior Officer position.
