Assistant System Engineer

Plan and standardize the enterprise server, storage platform and end-user computing environment, which will include the server farms, multi-tiers storage technologies, data centers management for Hospital Information System and all other related integration between sub-systems and workstations for Hospital Information System and all other related peripherals (such as printers, scanners) to ensure the hardware and software compatibility with the overall computing standards Enforce the standardization and configurations for the server farms by utilizing standard configurations, hardening, patching, and global policies enforcement and from centralized management tools or custom-built administrative scripts, with minimalize efforts being involved by field engineers Deploy, support and monitor the overall system and storage platform through centralized management tools and custom-built administrative scripts Undertake hardware and operating system fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources Troubleshoot, review and recommend hospital-wide solutions, and if necessary, conduct proof-of-concept, to tackle the common issues through global configuration and settings Provide full support to users (including teams within IT Department) and remote support engineers and troubleshoot any infrastructure-wide problems that arise Good vendor management skills to ensure the compliance with hospital IT system standards, with minimal impacts to the end-users Review periodically on the current operational efficiency and recommend for any improvement areas from the aspect of computing performance, hardware and software configuration and settings, equipment roll out scheduling and prioritization, security risk exposures so as to maintain the IT server and storage platform in well-managed state Requirements Bachelor Degree in Computer-related discipline, with 6-8 years’ relevant experience in designing and managing enterprise server and storage environment OR in designing and managing enterprise PC environment at least 1000+ workstations Relevant vendor certifications such as Microsoft, VMWare, Dell EMC, Citrix, HP, RedHat Linux/CentOS etc. are highly preferred a. Server configuration and design including RAID group, SAN, DAS, iSCSI, and hardware-level and performance monitoring concepts b. Storage design (such as Disk Pool, RAID Group, Storage-Tiering), performance monitoring and tuning, access administration for SAN, NAS, share folder/file-levels permissions settings and quota management etc. c. VMWare & Citrix Virtualization (w/ VDI / Virtual App experience), HCI design, implementation, troubleshooting and fine-tuning by in-depth monitoring on the system performance such as IOPS, Graphic Rendering, CPU/Memory usage from different levels including Host, Hypervisor and Guest-OS etc. d. Windows Domain Administration such as DNS, DHCP, GPO, Security Policies, WSUS, SCCM, DFS-R etc. using various system management tools and PowerShell scripts e. Messaging security gateway and Microsoft Exchange implementation, upgrade and support for 1000+ users f. System security controls implementation, such as system hardening, patch management, malware detection and security log analysis etc. g. Configuration of Windows GPO, Security Policies, Registry Settings, and related global deployment using various management and Deployment tools h.
