Finance Director / Manager (Based in Africa) One of the affiliated Companies of Eddid Financial, a dynamic and internationally-focused organization, is seeking an accomplished finance leader for a pivotal role. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving financial strategy, building robust banking partnerships, and leading a team to support her strategic operations across the region. This role is central to our expansion and requires a leader capable of navigating the complexities of international trade finance. You will be entrusted with optimizing financial workflows, ensuring seamless cross-border transactions, and securing essential trade facilities. Your expertise will not only safeguard the Company assets but also propel the growth in this vital market. Key Responsibilities: As the senior finance representative on the ground, you will assume full responsibility for the trade finance function. This includes leading the end-to-end execution of Letters of Credit (LCs), from issuance and negotiation to the expert resolution of discrepancies. You will manage all trade financing instruments, including bank guarantees and import/export loans, while overseeing critical documentation to ensure compliant and efficient customs clearance. A core aspect of this role involves building and nurturing strategic relationships with international banking partners. You will be tasked with negotiating competitive credit facilities and terms, all while ensuring stringent adherence to international banking regulations (AML, KYC) and trade laws (UCP600, ISBP). Furthermore, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating financial risks related to currency exchange, payment delays, and counter-party credibility. This leadership position requires close cross-functional collaboration with subsidiary teams, logistics departments, and external auditors. You will provide strategic insights on regional financial practices and play a key role in aligning financial operations with the overarching business objectives. Who We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred. Certifications in trade finance (e.g., CDCS, CSDG) are a significant advantage. You must have a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in trade finance, with a proven track record in managing complex cross-border transactions and LC operations. Demonstrable experience in negotiating with financial institutions, particularly in emerging markets, is essential. For candidates with more years of experience, we will consider offering the post of Finance Director. Mastery of trade finance tools (SWIFT, trade portals), Incoterms 2020, and a deep understanding of customs and documentation procedures are required. Full professional fluency in both English and Mandarin is mandatory to effectively lia our global partners and head office.
