About the Role Role Summary Assistant General Manager-Business Development will support the CEO in building and scaling the Excellence Center for Going Global, design, lead, and execute the regional growth strategy across Greater China and Southeast Asia, developing strategic partnerships, driving commercial pipelines, and orchestrating cross-functional delivery to position the company as the premier go‑to partner for Chinese innovators going global. Responsibilities Define and own the BD strategy for Greater China & SEA aligned to the CEO’s vision. Map priority therapeutic areas, device categories, and target markets; develop market entry/expansion plays. Identify and formalize strategic alliances (regulators, CROs/CMOs, distributors, hospital networks, KOLs, payers, digital health platforms) to accelerate “go‑global” pathways. Establish channel partnerships and key accounts; govern partner performance via SLAs and joint business plans. Translate client needs into cross‑functional delivery plans; orchestrate Regulatory, Market Access, Supply Chain, Medical, and Commercial teams for seamless execution. In charge of Alliance Management. Implement bid management and solution governance; ensure compliance, quality, and risk controls across markets. Build and lead the BD department; set goals, coach performance, foster a high‑performance culture. Own regional targets, forecasting, and budgeting; track KPIs and report progress to the CEO and executive team. Ensure all BD and commercial activities meet regulatory, legal, anti‑bribery/anti‑corruption, privacy, and ethical standards across jurisdictions. Proactively manage commercial, operational, and reputational risks. Qualifications 15+ years of progressive Business Development, Partnerships, or Commercial leadership experience, ideally in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotech, or healthcare services. Prior experience leading teams and scaling new functions or business units. Proven success in Greater China and SEA market development, with a track record of building pipelines and closing complex, multi‑stakeholder deals. Required Knowledge & Skills English & Mandarina language is a must. Profound understanding of the healthcare sector. Strategic thinking with strong consultative selling, solution design, and negotiation skills. Deep understanding of China‑origin innovators and their “go‑global” needs; Exceptional stakeholder management and C‑suite communication. Data‑driven pipeline management; proficiency with forecast accuracy. Entrepreneurial mindset, resilient, and comfortable building structure in a new department. Familiarity with SEA regulatory and access landscapes is a plus. Preferred Skills Additional SEA languages are a plus. Up to 40–60% travel across Greater China and SEA, as business needs require.
