As the first psychology department in Hong Kong, established in 1968, our department has a rich history of academic excellence. Ranked 3rd in Asia and 28th worldwide in the 2025 QS World University Ranking in the subject of Psychology, our 23 faculty members and over 100 research postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows actively engage in a wide range of research areas, including clinical psychology/neuropsychology, cognitive psychology/cognitive science, neuroscience, educational and developmental psychology, as well as social/health psychology. Our department offers comprehensive undergraduate, taught postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD programs in psychology. We also support open science and strive for high integrity, trustworthy, replicable and reproducible research. We value diverse research methodologies. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Educational/School Psychology, and the qualification to practise as educational/school psychologist. To apply for Assistant Professor, candidates should have a good record of research. To apply for Associate Professor, candidates should have a strong research record with publications in leading academic journals. To apply for Professor, candidates also demonstrate evidence of international standing in the field and a proven track record of impactful research, publications, external grants and leadership. The appointee is expected to maintain an active research programme, and be responsible for teaching courses and supervising students at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as contributing to the administration of academic programmes. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salary tax in Hong Kong does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
