We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead our bioinformatics project. The Project Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, from planning and execution to delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the bioinformatics project, guiding team members and stakeholders towards successful project completion.
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure their successful implementation. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including bioinformatics researchers, software developers, biologists, and business stakeholders to ensure effective project coordination and communication.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budgetary allocations, to support project objectives and meet deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that deliverables meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project success, and develop risk mitigation strategies to address them in a timely manner.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and clients. Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project team and across the organization, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and ethical guidelines governing biomedical research and bioinformatics activities.
  • Strategic Initiatives in Greater Bay Area: Lead strategic initiatives to connect with experts and stakeholders in the Greater Bay Area, particularly in cities such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Macau. Identify opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and market expansion within this dynamic economic region.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience (at least 5 years) in the biomedical industry or related fields such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of bioinformatics principles, tools, and techniques, with a demonstrated track record of managing bioinformatics projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, and familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in the biomedical field.
  • Fluency in Mandarin: Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required to effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders in mainland China. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin are essential for successful collaboration and relationship-building.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the Greater Bay Area and mainland China for networking events, meetings, and collaborative activities. Flexibility to adapt to different cultural and business environments is essential for building productive relationships and driving project success.
  • Demonstrated network and connections within the academic and research community in mainland China, particularly in the fields of biomedicine, bioinformatics, and related disciplines. Strong relationships with key opinion leaders, researchers, and institutions is highly desirable.
