Overview Join to apply for the Senior Manager, Fund Accounting role at Standard Chartered . Responsibilities Partner with Fiduciary and Fund Services product management to define functional and product strategy and select the best paths for execution and support. Deliver best-in-class service in accordance with established procedures, regulations and laws to protect client interests and exceed client expectations. Participate in market advisory forums to position and promote Standard Chartered Bank's perspective and objectives, seeking to enhance market processes and practices. Participate in Regulatory/Market Infrastructure meetings to communicate SCB and clients’ perspectives on existing and proposed changes. Execute against agreed strategic developments and projects and documented plans to deliver against the schedule. Identify areas in countries to automate or eliminate and drive continuous change in line with business strategy. Drive consistency across countries in processes and governance, ensuring compliance with policies. Responsible for new fund launching / fund transfer-in / fund transfer-out / fund termination, documentation review, requirements review and preparing services‑level memoranda in accordance with the operational guidelines of Securities Services/Fund Services. Oversee new business execution ensuring robust practice by sales, implementation, and operations. Attend client visits (including due diligence) to ensure client propositions are understood and actions are taken to improve service delivery. Partner with Countries and Financial Markets Sales to ensure key services are performed to standard; align with FM growth targets and with Product & Solutions and Delivery teams. Monitor client service standards by Operations staff to ensure high-quality operational and client support services across all countries. Act as escalation point for country-level operational issues; identify remedial solutions and oversee timely, efficient implementation when required. Work closely with Fiduciary & Fund Services country heads to ensure platforms support client SLAs and internal benchmarks; identify opportunities for automation. Proactively develop a pool of knowledgeable, mobile operations staff and champion operational best practices across markets and regions. Drive a continuous improvement culture to maximise cost and processing efficiency. Ensure compliance with group and country policies, code of conduct, regulations and laws. Support group and corporate requests in a controlled and timely fashion. Review EORP, Audit, KCSA and CST issues, track deliverables and ensure quality and accuracy of wording and deadlines. Review, amend and close risk, audit, and outstanding balance items with zero exceptions >30 days. Ensure Change Management processes are adhered to in country operations working through Fiduciary & Fund Services country heads. Update global management on notable operational developments and issues and drive resolution of thematic client and process issues. Supervise Fund Accounting Officer / FAM and hub teams on daily administration and fund administration tasks (e.g., monitoring cash positions, reviewing portfolio valuations and NAV calculations, disbursing payments to service providers, reviewing invoices and fund expenses). Ensure client instructions sent to Fund Services are correctly distributed to relevant parties for execution (e.g., trade settlement or payment instructions). Monitor cash positions and investment compliance for assigned clients, and ensure FS daily activities such as cash and trade reconciliation. Review Portfolio Valuations, investment compliance reports, and other required reporting; review NAV on agreed basis and deliver service reports within SLAs. Ensure accurate calculation and posting of management fees, expenses, performance fees, and related items per SLAs and relevant offering memorandums. Review, record and disburse dividends, and disburse payments to investment managers/advisors, custodians, administrators and other providers as required. Review invoices and arrange payments of fund expenses; verify details before invoicing FS clients. Ensure fund administration service fees are settled by clients in a timely manner. Support callback activities. Develop in-depth knowledge of funds’ documentation, investment rules, KYC, AML, corporate secretary practices, IFRS and US GAAP. Supervise and assist in preparing interim and annual financial statements in connection with fund audits. Qualifications Education: University degree in business, economics or accounting. Languages: English, Chinese. Proven relevant degree-level education with at least 15 years of experience within the Securities Services industry, including experience in Controlling, Audit and Operations; familiarity with regulations and banking policies; advisory or related roles in financial services, asset management, or insurance RBC reporting. Applicants with project or migration experience are a plus. Market Knowledge Strong understanding of the wider business, economic, and market environment in which the firm operates. Understanding of Fiduciary and Fund Services processes and key market risks. Proven ability to quickly learn new areas, concepts and products. Business Strategy And Model Strong understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model relevant to the role. Track record in delivering large change programmes and continuous improvements with strong project hygiene and transparency. Experience in developing, managing and refining strategy papers. Risk Management And Control Ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks; awareness of main risks and the role in managing them. Financial analysis and control; ability to interpret financial information and implement controls. Governance, Oversight And Controls Ability to assess governance, oversight and controls and oversee changes where necessary. Team Management Proven experience building and managing a high-performing team; ability to lead virtual teams. Ability to inspire and engage with people at all levels to deliver and drive change.
