Laboratory for AI-Powered Financial Technologies Limited (AIFT) aims to be a leading research centre on financial technologies and services. We are seeking a passionate and talented Assistant Software Engineer to join our growing team. Key Accountabilities Enhance and maintain the existing platform (TypeScript and React frontend, Python and FastAPI backend) by implementing functional modifications, bug fixes, and new requirements. Assist with managing the end-to-end data pipeline with thorough validation, cleaning, transformation, and ongoing updates of client and transaction performance data. Assist with the development and maintenance of a robust, high-performance, production-grade Python-based simulation and analytics components (Monte‑Carlo simulations, financial modelling, multiprocessing). Coordinate with supervisors and cross‑functional teams to solicit cooperation and resolve problems. Explore cutting‑edge FinTech solutions empowered by Big Data, artificial intelligence, LLM, and modern financial technologies and tools. Have knowledge of FinTech development in the industry’s leading areas. Undertake ad‑hoc tasks as assigned from time to time. Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience Bachelor’s degree or above with a strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or related fields) from a recognized institute/university. 1 year or more relevant working experience. Proficiency and hands‑on experience in TypeScript, React, and Ant Design (AntD) with solid full‑stack development skills (frontend and backend). Prior experience with financial or transaction platforms will be highly advantageous. Proficiency and hands‑on experience with Python. Knowledge in database systems (SQL and NoSQL), data validation, reconciliation, and pipeline management; exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Strong command of data tools and scripting (Python, ETL processes, data quality frameworks). Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment. Knowledge and experience with system architecture and system deployment is a plus.
