Senior Software Backend Engineer

About the role We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Backend Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the development of our innovative AI-powered education platform LingoTask . As a full‑time position based in the vibrant Sha Tin District, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the complex backend systems that power our cutting‑edge educational technology. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and deploy robust, scalable, and secure backend systems to support our AI-driven education platform. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical requirements and implement innovative solutions. Build and optimize APIs to enable seamless integration between frontend, backend, and data systems. Write clean, well‑documented code and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Continuously monitor and maintain backend infrastructure, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks. Participate in the deployment and testing of new features and functionalities. Contribute to the ongoing evolution and improvement of our AI education platform. Required Qualifications Education & Major: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python programming and experience in developing standardized applications using Java. Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking. Backend Development: Hands‑on experience in backend development with familiarity in at least one mainstream web framework (e.g., Django, Flask, Spring). Database Knowledge: Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis). AI Tool Application: Demonstrated experience in using AI programming assistants (e.g., ChatgpT, DeepSeek, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to support coding, debugging, and optimization. System Architecture: Experience in developing large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture, with knowledge of network architecture and cybersecurity principles. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or higher. Familiarity with machine learning and statistical analysis, with practical project experience. Willingness to work in Hong Kong. Possession of a Hong Kong Talent Express (高才通) visa, IANG visa, or other valid Hong Kong work visa. Experience in developing and managing large-scale, high‑concurrency backend systems.
