About the role: The Head of Corporate Affairs, Asia, plays a strategic role in Asahi's business growth in the East Asia region by elevating and protecting the Company’s brand image and reputation across the region. This role champions corporate communications, crisis management, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs to ensure consistent messaging, foster trust, and reinforce the Company’s values in diverse markets. The incumbent will also formulate and execute strategies to engage internal employees across the region, that align with the Company's overall commercial and business agenda and communications initiatives. The job holder will be based in either Shanghai or Hong Kong, with key responsibilities as follows: External communications, crisis management, and stakeholders’ engagement: Develop and execute external communication strategies and plans for the Company's brand promotion and protection in collaboration with relevant teams and external partners (if necessary) by identifying key topics, stakeholders, and priority markets to focus on, and adopting a holistic and cross-market approach to ensure and create synergies within the region. Manage media monitoring based on local needs and support the monitoring and follow-up of media/consumer/customer feedback and requests. Manage crisis/sensitive external communications and handle crisis management activities with close engagement and alignment with the regional or global Corporate Affairs team and respective market/regional Management teams. In cooperation with the regional or global Corporate Affairs team, build and manage media relations with key media in the region relevant to our business. Ensure complete alignment on external communications objectives and needs with the regional and global team, and respond to the respective market/region's needs and special environment. In collaboration with the legal team, ensure timely and quality compliance with existing regional alcohol self-regulatory commitments. This includes monitoring and reporting outcomes, ensuring compliance of all commercial communications with relevant policies, and managing compliance checks on the commercial agenda within the Sales and Marketing Compliance Committee. In cooperation with the marketing team, support the execution of brand PR activities, including events, as required. Develop and provide recommendations on regular success stories and content for external dissemination (Website, LinkedIn) to promote the Company's brand and missions/values. Manage communications/corporate affairs-related budget and annual review process. Build internal capabilities in alcohol responsibility with a focus on marketing and trade marketing, prepare educational materials, and provide consultancy for sales and marketing teams related to commercial communications. Advise management teams on government affairs and reputation-related risks and issues. Engage with relevant stakeholders on key regulatory issues; engage and build sustainable relationships with relevant wider industrial associations and bodies . Internal communication and engagement: Formulate and implement an impactful internal communications strategy and plan efficiently through translating business strategies into key messages, developing appropriate internal communications initiatives and materials to support those strategies, and executing and driving engagement events and programs that create excitement, drive engagement, align teams, and shape culture. Manage the dissemination of the regional/global internal communications content as appropriate/required (Management’s vlog messages, project communication, strategy communication, regional campaigns, etc.). Manage the daily internal communications , ensuring well-targeted and consistent messages align with the Company’s internal communications strategy; Manage the internal communication tools and channels , including the mailbox, newsletter, and the internal portals (when available) for the region, ensuring that content and messages across these tools and channels are up-to-date, consistent, engaging, and informative. Provide internal communications advice and guidance to Management teams. Support building a strong Company brand identity, including visual identity and reputation management, and ensure the consistent implementation of corporate identity/communications/media relations & usage guidelines. Lead the management of creative agencies to deliver assets for internal communication as required (video, graphic design assets) Create, organize, and/or manage any corporate affairs-related conferences and major events for internal and/or external stakeholders except consumers. Others: Support developing and implementing a broader Sustainability-related and Responsible drinking-related agenda for the region in collaboration and alignment with related policies and agendas. Support any ad-hoc projects when required. We might be a potential match if you are/have: A min of 10 years+ proven experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, corporate affairs, policy influencing/advocacy, program management, and sustainability. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, languages, communications, marketing, or a related field. Proficiency in English and Chinese, as well as understanding other Asian languages, will be a plus. A collaborative mindset, logical, detailed‑minded, and strong stakeholder management.
