Manager (External Relations and Communications) - DSCI The Office of Dean of Science is seeking a seasoned communications professional to fill the position of Manager (External Relations and Communications). The appointee will play a key role in the planning, development, and execution of strategic external relations and communication initiatives to enhance the School of Science's brand presence, visibility, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities Assist senior management in formulating and implementing strategic external relations, branding, and communication plans to enhance the School's reputation both locally and internationally. Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, industry partners, government authorities, and the media. Oversee the planning and delivery of major events and engagement activities, including congregation, ceremonies, donor and alumni functions, partnership events, and delegations. Manage the production and quality of external communication platforms, including the School website, publications, press releases, social media and promotional materials. Identify opportunities to enhance engagement and visibility in alignment with the School's vision. Qualifications and Requirements A bachelor's degree in public relations and communications, marketing, or a related discipline. At least 7 years of post‑qualification work experience in communication, public relations, media relations, or stakeholder engagement; some experience in the higher education sector is a plus. Strong strategic thinking and planning skills; creative, self‑motivated, and with demonstrated experience in managing communication projects and stakeholder relations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua). Proven supervisory experience and the ability to work effectively as a team player. Experience in digital communications, analytics, content strategy, and multimedia production is a strong advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and a written test. (Duration: 2 years) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
