Assistant Manager (Undergraduate Student Development and Career Services) The Undergraduate (UG) Programs Office of HKUST Business School is searching for a capable, self-motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Assistant Manager in the Student Development and Career Services Team. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the appointee will work together with the whole team and will mainly focus on the following areas: Responsibilities Career Development and Support: Provide career advice to UG business students; build positive and professional relationships with students/alumni; identify trainers and implement career development training; organize career exploration activities for students (company visits, career trek, career mentorship program, etc.). Work with internal units to provide career support for students. Management of the job portal; and as appropriate, match students to suit employers' job requirements (nomination). Employer Outreach and Relationship Cultivation: Proactively reach out to new contacts on campus recruitment and early career personnel. Work with the team in organizing career fairs (twice a year) and employer appreciation networking event. Actively soliciting internship and graduate opportunities for UG students. Maintaining an up-to-date employer engagement database. Career Development Advisory Council: Assist in providing secretariat support to the Council and follow up on the execution of the ideas, strategic advice and HR leads offered by the Council. Ad‑hoc Tasks: Demonstrate flexibility to lead and coordinate ad‑hoc tasks as assigned (including but not limited to projects related to Student Development / Student Groups / International Case Competitions and Management of SBMT courses and Scholarships). Qualifications Applicants should have a good honors degree with at least 3 years of post‑qualification work experience. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Good analytical and organizational skills; systematic approach at work; excellent team‑playing skill; the ability to multi‑task and work independently and flexibly; good inter‑personal communication skills and capability of networking with both external clients and internal office units; and passion in higher education and career development. Good IT knowledge with high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, website and image editing and online social media know‑how are highly desirable. Prior experience working in tertiary institutions, youth and career development or campus recruitment is an advantage. As some events will be held in the evening or during weekends, working outside normal office hours will be expected.
