Financial Crime Compliance (MLRO) SM – Insurance Sector Financial crime compliance specialist responsible for oversight of anti‑money‑laundering and counter‑terrorist financing compliance, with statutory responsibilities under Hong Kong AML/CFT regulations. Key Responsibilities Serve as the appointed MLRO and assume statutory responsibilities under Hong Kong AML/CFT regulations Develop, implement, and maintain the financial crime compliance program, including policies, procedures, and internal controls Act as the primary advisor to senior management and business units on financial crime risks, regulatory developments, and mitigation measures Oversee transaction monitoring systems, fraud investigations, and the submission of suspicious transaction reports (STRs) to the relevant authorities Conduct periodic compliance reviews, risk assessments, and gap analyses to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory standards Liaise with regulators, manage regulatory inquiries, and ensure timely reporting Lead and deliver financial crime compliance training to staff and promote a strong compliance culture across the organization Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in financial crime compliance, with substantial exposure to AML/CFT and regulatory reporting, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry Proven experience in an MLRO or Deputy MLRO role, with comprehensive knowledge of Hong Kong’s AML/CFT regulatory framework (e.g., SPM, AMLO) Strong practical experience in transaction monitoring, fraud investigation, STR reporting, and policy governance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with regulators, senior management, and cross‑functional teams High integrity, professional maturity, and ability to work independently under pressure Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level Employment Type Full-time Job Function & Industries Legal, Quality Assurance, and Consulting Insurance, Banking, and Financial Services #J-18808-Ljbffr
