Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant, focusing on Smart Building and Facility solutions, will act as the technical bridge between our sales team and customers, designing and presenting innovative, value-driven smart building solutions. This role will work closely with clients, channel partners, and internal teams to translate business needs into technically sound, future-proof solutions centered around AI-driven Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC optimization, PropTech, and IoT solutions. Job Responsibilities Lead technical discovery meetings with clients to understand facility operations, pain points, and strategic objectives. Design and propose end-to-end sustainable smart building/facility solutions incorporating BMS, HVAC controls, IoT sensors, AI-driven analytics, and PropTech applications. Act as the technical point of contact throughout the entire sales cycle. Technical Sales Support Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations, proof‑of‑concept demonstrations, system architecture diagrams, and commercial proposals. Collaborate with the sales team to develop winning bid strategies and respond to RFIs, RFPs, and tenders. Provide pre‑sales engineering support including Bill of Materials (BoM), scope of work definition, integration planning, and cost estimations. Conduct product/technology benchmarking and competitive positioning. Channel Partner Engagement Engage with channel partners (system integrators, distributors, contractors) and technology vendors to co‑develop opportunities and joint solutions. Enable partners and vendors on our smart building solutions through technical training and workshops. Drive partner‑led solution integration, perform compatibility studies, and validate third‑party system interoperability. Support partners in joint customer pursuits, solution architecture reviews, and technical proposal development. Project Transition & Handover Ensure smooth technical hand‑over from sales to the project delivery/implementation team post‑contract award. Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership Stay updated on industry trends, standards (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, OPC‑UA, MQTT, etc.), and emerging Facility and PropTech innovations. Occasionally support marketing activities (whitepapers, webinars, case studies, trade shows). Job Requirements Higher Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum five years of relevant experience in building automation, facility management solutions, or smart building projects (e.g., commercial building, data center, or mixed‑use developments). Proven pre‑sales or sales engineering background with BMS manufacturers, system integrators, or authorised distributors strongly preferred. Existing network within the building controls or PropTech industry in the region is a significant advantage. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., LEED, CEM, BEAM Plus, etc.) desirable but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS), SCADA, and DDC controllers. Solid understanding of HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, VAVs, energy metering, and building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON, KNX, OPC). Familiarity with PropTech ecosystems, digital twins, data analytics for buildings, occupant experience, and ESG/sustainability solutions. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings. Excellent presentation and communication skills (able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders). Fluent in Chinese and English, both written and spoken (additional languages a plus). Benefits Hybrid work model – 2 days’ work from home.
