Underwriting Manager / Assistant Manager (Financial Lines) Be among the first 25 applicants - 1 day ago. Job Summary Support the team leader on portfolio performance of Financial Lines. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international brokers and other distributors in support of business retention and acquisition. Assist in formulating and executing underwriting plans for Professional Liability as well as other Financial Lines product when needed and service strategy for these product lines. Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels. Job Accountabilities Apply Zurich Underwriting elements for Professional Liability (and others) new business & renewals. Responsible for handling of assigned accounts and works within delegated authorities. Measure exposure and analyze risk; determining technical price according to agreed pricing process. Quote and set coverage; negotiate terms & conditions. Contribute to development and execution of Zurich’s business strategy for Renewal and New Business; build relationships in support of customer/ business acquisition and retention. Timely update and use of Zurich internal system to proactively manage and improve underwriting and operation efficiency. Contribute ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions based on technical, customer and distributor insights. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or typically hold or working towards relevant professional qualification such as ACII. Over 5 years of underwriting experience in domestic or International Program underwriting with extensive knowledge on financial lines products. Fluency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin-speaking an added advantage. Knowledge in Financial Lines products, with focus on Cyber and Professional Indemnity. Added preference for skills in structuring multinational insurance business. Knowledge of major legal & regulatory issues in Financial Lines in HK and to some extent in overseas markets are added advantage. Team player is a must. Open mind to try new ways and alternative approaches of doing things. Self-starter, proactive, results and execution oriented. Negotiation, influencing and selling skills. Ability to develop relationships with key business partners. Ability to build trust based business relationships with customers and producers.
