Robot Gateway Engineer

What You Will Do Develop and maintain the robot‑side gateway software in C, C++, or Go Implement communication protocols between robot and cloud (e.g. TCP/UDP, WebSocket, MQTT, gRPC, custom binary protocols) Ensure reliable, efficient, and resilient data transmission, especially in weak network / intermittent connectivity environments Integrate with ROS / ROS‑bridge: interface with ROS topics, services or actions to trigger robot behavior Collaborate with back‑end engineers to define contracts, message formats, and error handling strategies Monitor, debug, and optimise performance, latency, memory, and resource usage Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical / Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience Strong proficiency in C or C++; or in Go (with a strong systems / networking orientation) Solid understanding of networking concepts: TCP, UDP, sockets, TLS/SSL, WebSocket, MQTT, etc. Experience with low‑latency, high‑reliability communication under constrained / lossy network Familiarity with cross‑platform development (Linux, embedded Linux) Experience integrating with ROS or ROS‑bridge (able to subscribe/publish topics, call services) Skills in debugging, profiling, memory management, concurrency / threading Strong problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking) Nice to Have Experience in IoT / embedded systems / edge computing Experience in intermittent / weak network / mobile networks Knowledge of encryption / secure channels, certificate management Experience with real‑time systems or RTOS Experience with protocol buffers, Cap’n Proto, FlatBuffers, CBOR, MessagePack, etc. Prior robotics experience (SLAM, control) — though not required We offer competitive package and promising career prospect to the right candidate.
