System Administrator

We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to manage our hybrid cloud environment. The ideal candidate will oversee our Alibaba Cloud infrastructure and on-premises VMware virtualization platforms. You will be responsible for server administration (Linux/Windows), web stack configuration, security implementation, and automation of routine tasks to ensure high availability and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: Provision, configure, and manage cloud resources (ECS, OSS, VPC, etc.). Monitor cloud usage to optimize costs and ensure efficient resource allocation. Administer on-premises VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter environments. Manage Virtual Machine (VM) lifecycle, resource scheduling, and High Availability (HA) to ensure service uptime. Maintain connectivity and seamless integration between the on-premises private cloud and Alibaba Cloud services. Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Perform regular patching, upgrades, and performance tuning. Configure and manage web/application servers, including Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, and PHP environments. Administer and maintain MySQL database servers to support business applications. Handle the application, installation, and renewal of SSL certificates to secure web services. Implement robust security measures, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption standards, firewall rules, and access control. Design and monitor backup solutions. Execute and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity. Utilize monitoring tools to track system health, investigate alerts, and resolve performance bottlenecks. Troubleshoot networking issues (LAN/WAN, Connectivity) and hardware-related faults. Develop scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with the IT team to resolve technical incidents, perform root cause analysis, and maintain high service quality. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in System Administration. Proven experience with Alibaba Cloud ecosystem and VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter is a must. Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration. Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls). Hands‑on experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat ) and MySQL database administration. Knowledge of SSL certificate configuration and management. Proficient in scripting languages, preferably PowerShell or Python , for automation. Certifications in Alibaba Cloud (ACA/ACP) or VMware (VCP) are highly desirable. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues. Self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
