Database Specialist - Associate - Infrastructure Critical Services – IT We are seeking a motivated and energetic Database Specialist to join our innovative Database team. Our team leads the evolution of database services and is transforming the company’s critical data infrastructure to cloud platform. We play a pivotal role in ensuring systems are robust, reliable and scalable, which is essential for HKEX business operations. We collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud and application teams to operate our systems in the fast‑paced financial markets of Hong Kong. If you are passionate about database technology, making an impact and thriving in a dynamic environment, come and join us Job Duties Responsibilities Perform database platform operations, support and administration in Linux, cloud and hybrid environment; Implement IaC automation scripts to facilitate DB service provision and operations; Assist in design of high availability distributed database platform to support containerized applications and micro‑services; Collaborate with application teams to understand business requirements, and analyze them to implement highly efficient and availability data platform to meet the non‑functional requirements; Enhance database platform security by compliance with industry hardening standards; Implement compliance standards and perform regular system compliance review and proactively assess exposure area; Manage vendor to ensure the highest quality delivery and implementation Requirements 5+ years of working experience in using database services say Oracle / IBM DB2 / GaussDB / PostgreSQL databases; Solid experience in IaC scripting/programming using API, Terraform and Ansible would be an advantage; Hands‑on experience on database high available solution and zero data loss architecture; Knowledge in SQL and data security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards; Experiences in Cloud database service and DB transformation is an advantage; Proactive, strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills; Degree holder in Computer science, Computer engineering, information technology or relevant discipline HKEX is committed as an Equal Opportunity Employer.
