The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM, including Chinese medicines (CMs) in Hong Kong. The CMHHK adopts a public‑private partnership model. The HKSAR Government has financed the construction and selected the Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor to incorporate the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the CMHHK. The CMHHK is targeted to commence hospital services by phases at the end of 2025. The CMHHK aims to offer comprehensive CM care, ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promote advanced and specialised CM services. The CMHHK will pioneer integrated Chinese‑Western medicine (ICWM) services to cater to different patient needs. Inpatient, day‑patient, and outpatient treatments and also community services will be offered by the CMHHK. Both government‑subsidised services and add‑on market‑oriented services will be provided to ensure accessibility and to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community. With a view to prioritising education, training, innovation and research, including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence‑based clinical research and develop CM theories and clinical applications, the CMHHK is now looking for the following talent to join our team. The CMHHK planning comes to commission stage II (Jan 2024‑Dec 2025). During this stage, the Chinese Medicine (CM) Division in CMHHK starts to design the details of protocols for its clinical service, training, research and public promotion. The CM Division requires the following positions in commission stage II to support the evidence‑based protocol drafting in the area of CM, ICWM services, training and research; to support the IT and application designs related to operations; and to coordinate the promotional campaign so as to increase public awareness of the missions of CMHHK and spread the CM culture in the community. Responsibilities Prepare and process herbal medicines as needed, including frying, roasting, or other process techniques as per hospital protocols. Operate and maintain dispensary equipment, such as electronic scales, granule dispensers, and packaging machines. Monitor and maintain optimal storage conditions for all herbal medicines to preserve their potency and safety. Strictly adhere to all CMHHK safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols within the dispensary. Assist in patient registration, appointment scheduling, and payment processing as required. Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to the manager in a timely manner. Accurately update patient records and dispensing logs in the Hospital Information System (HIS). Shift work on public holidays and weekends. Requirements A bachelor’s degree or certificate/diploma in CM pharmacy/dispensing. 5 years or more experience as a CM Technician/Dispenser. Experience in CM dispensing, processing and operation of CM pharmacy. Passionate in contributing the establishment of CMHHK. Possess innovative ideas and experience in smart CM pharmacy management. Meticulousness, excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. Self‑motivation with the ability to work independently as well as with a team. An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SPSS and Chinese word processing. Work location The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.
