The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) stands as a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution dedicated to advancing Chinese medicine in Hong Kong and is expected to commence operation in phases at the end of 2025. Established through a public-private partnership, the hospital is being constructed by the government, with HKBU appointed as the contractor in June 2021 through a tendering process. Subsequently, HKBU registered “HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited” as the operator in accordance with the requirements of the service deed, which is responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of CMHHK. A hallmark of CMHHK is its integrated approach, blending Chinese and Western medicine to provide professional patient care. CMHHK will actively engage in various interactions and collaborate with the industry to promote the development of Chinese medicine across Hong Kong, the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area, and international institutions. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the health and well‑being of our community and create a brighter future Occupational Therapist I (25018) To deliver Occupational Therapy interventions and provide supervision to support departmental operations. Act as the team coordinator to ensure continuous service quality at the department. Responsibilities Oversee and ensure the timely and effective delivery of occupational therapy services. Serve as a clinical expert in the specialty, providing guidance and advice on advanced treatment protocols and interventions. Promote the development and implementation of the latest occupational therapy techniques. Develop a specialty profile based on the best available clinical practices and postgraduate training. Encourage ongoing professional development to incorporate new knowledge, skills, and techniques, enhancing training and management capabilities. Organize and conduct interdisciplinary or service‑specific training to address specialized knowledge and skills. Provide direct coaching in the clinical management of complex cases. Share updated specialized knowledge, skills, and management practices with team members. Support daily rehabilitation service including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays (5‑day working pattern). Assist in the development of treatment protocols and guidelines to ensure best practices and safe delivery of occupational therapy services. Support quality improvement activities to meet departmental objectives and service needs. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, professional standards, policies, procedures, and practice standards. Act as a functional head for the specialty, monitoring daily operations and team productivity. Collect, organize, and evaluate clinical information to enhance patient care, service efficiency, and clinical research. Identify and optimise the use of available resources to achieve departmental objectives and goals. Assist SPT in managing resources, including manpower planning, equipment maintenance, inventory, and recurrent budgeting. Serve as an expert and advisor in the specialty's development at the departmental level. Demonstrate and coach professional and ethical conduct in all job‑related activities. Lead the team in establishing rapport and collaboration with other disciplines to ensure quality patient care. Contribute to the development of evidence‑based practices for clinical research and service improvement. Support team members with effective problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Ensure effective communication within and between teams. Requirements Be registered as an Occupational Therapist of the Register (Part I) of the Occupational Therapists Board under the Allied Health Professions Ordinance. Have a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Occupational Therapists Board, Hong Kong. Holder of a Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent; a master's degree is preferred. Practice as an Occupational Therapist for at least 3 years. Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese. Have experience in one or more rehabilitation specialties. Possess relevant postgraduate experience in the specialised clinical area required for the position. Demonstrate a commitment to patient care. Possess strong interpersonal skills. Show empathy towards patients. Contribute to professional training, research, teaching, and development activities. Work location: The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.
