Two-year renewable contract The Chief Officer is expected to act as both the subject expert consultant in Elderly Service and Gernotechnology, s/he will be the Head of the sub-team concerned. As an expert consultant, with networks of service providers of the service and knowledge and insights about adopting gernotechnology in social service and the community to improve the quality of life for the elderly. S/ he will be working with other sub-teams to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration and co-creation in driving technology development and application, intending to create impacts and enhance the well-being directly on the elderly, caregivers and health care staff. S/he may also help to engage the related stakeholders to contribute to creating impacts on other social groups or people concerning the Council and the sector. The Chief Officer is also the Head of the sub-team and the Secretary of the Specialized/ Steering Committee. S/he is expected to learn with and develop the staff team. Together with the team members, s/he is expected to engage and work with service providers among the agency members of the Council, as well as all other relevant stakeholders so that they can be enabled to take part in the cocreation process for the welfare and well-being of the elderly, carergivers and related groups of people in the society. Responsibilities To provide thought leadership for the Council to set social agenda and identify corresponding impact areas in response to social needs and advocate for the well-being of the elderly, carergivers as well as other related social groups or communities To engage agency members as well as other related stakeholders to formulate directions & strategies for the social welfare and social development of elderly service as well as other related social groups or communities To grow and lead a team of staff and develop them with subject expertise as well as networks of stakeholders and resources To proactively identify policy and service gaps in social welfare service, and respond to the issues by proposing new initiatives, innovations and technologies To establish and maintain effective collaborative networks with multi-stakeholders, such as the government, member agencies, corporates, community stakeholders, strategic partners and overseas counterparts Requirements Strong impact-driven mindset and orientation Innovative and strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, engagement and collaboration, and networking ability Knowledge of needs of and services for elderly, R&D development will be an advantage Good knowledge of social welfare policies and services A minimum of 7 years post graduate experience in social welfare service sector is preferred; A registered social worker Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Development Studies or relevant disciplines Proficient in both written and oral English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) 5-day work per week. 21-day annual leave.
