Opened in 2025, it is Hong Kong’s first multi‑purpose sports, entertainment and leisure precinct, providing world‑class venues and facilities for major events and community enjoyment. Kai Tak Sports Park Ltd (KTSPL) has been awarded the contract to undertake this project. Legends Global (LG), through its subsidiary company in Hong Kong, SMG China, has been engaged by KTSPL to be the Operator of Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP). Department Commercial Reports to Executive Director Role Introduction This is a key leadership role operating as part of the Senior Management Team and reporting to the LG Director at KTSP. The role is responsible for a wide remit of commercial activities that LG provide under a management agreement with KTSPL, and includes responsibility for event procurement, management of the booking calendar, ticketing, premium hospitality, merchandising, and B2B marketing. The Director Commercial will lead on the development and implementation of commercial strategy and provide people leadership to ensure success in the delivery of commercial services. Key Responsibilities Ensure LG meets its commercial commitments stipulated in the management agreement with KTSPL and the Employers Requirements Maintain strategic relationships with sporting, entertainment, business, government, partners and other organisations locally and internationally for the commercial benefit of KTSP Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve monetary and non‑monetary targets (KPIs) Stimulate ideas from the Commercial Department to grow existing revenue streams and secure new ones Provide inspirational leadership to the Commercial Department and across all aspects of the business Create and maintain an inclusive and dynamic working environment that empowers staff to make meaningful contributions to the company Develop relationships with local, regional and international promoters and hirers to achieve a solid calendar of bookings across a range of entertainment, sport, MICE and other suitable events Manage day‑to‑day operations of the event booking system and precinct‑wide event calendar Oversee ticketing strategy, ticketing operations and client/customer service delivery Implement the premium hospitality strategy, manage suite and loge box licences, generate new client premium sales and create other premium experience opportunities for incremental revenue Develop and implement the event merchandising strategy and manage merchandising operations with high client/customer service standards Prepare and deliver rolling annual marketing plan for teams under the Commercial Department and support ad‑hoc projects with other LG departments and teams Align with Employer Requirements and oversee progress toward agreed KPIs Work with Finance to prepare the annual budget for the Commercial Department and manage the budget throughout the year Report to the LG Director KTSP on key matters and provide financial updates Support the LG Director KTSP in reporting to the Executive Vice President Asia and MENA and Senior Vice President Asia as required Establish positive working relationships with the LG Senior Management Team and senior management of KTSPL Stay up‑to‑date with market conditions in Hong Kong and the region as they relate to KTSP Identify, prioritize and control commercial risks Ensure all staff understand and commit to company policies, processes and procedures Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements, including safe work practices for staff, contractors and service providers Ensure all commercial staff have appropriate performance goals, training and development plans Deputise for the LG Director as required Requirements Bachelor’s degree with major in management, business or marketing Minimum 10 years senior leadership experience in a commercial or business development role Senior experience in the commercial management of large‑scale sports, entertainment or multi‑purpose venues Experience in negotiating venue hiring agreements in the entertainment sector, particularly concerts Experience living and working in Asia is desirable Exceptional strategic thinking and influencing skills with political awareness Well organised and commercially astute, capable of maintaining confidentiality Ability to cope with pressured situations in a timely and cohesive manner Ability to deliver polished presentations and public speaking engagements Attention to detail and commitment to excellence Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and normal working hours Ability to travel Personal & Application Information We are an equal opportunity employer.
