Our client is a leading publicly listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (SEHK), with a diverse portfolio spanning numerous sectors. They are seeking an experienced and strategic Group Financial Controller to lead the finance function at the group level. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial operations for over 100 subsidiaries, managing a large team of more than 60 professionals, and ensuring compliance, risk management, and financial strategy align with our listed company standards. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play a key role in supporting business expansion, optimizing financial performance, and upholding the highest levels of corporate governance. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of over 60 finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring effective talent development and succession planning. Oversee financial reporting, consolidation, and auditing for the group and its 100+ subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, and relevant regulatory requirements. Develop and implement robust financial controls, risk management frameworks, and internal audit processes to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency. Drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support group-wide decision-making and long-term growth objectives. Manage treasury functions, including cash flow optimization, funding strategies, and foreign exchange risk management across multiple jurisdictions. Collaborate with senior leadership, external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders to ensure transparent financial governance and reporting. Identify opportunities for process improvements, digital transformation, and cost efficiencies within the finance function. Handle mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring activities, providing financial due diligence and integration support. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are essential. An MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable. Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Financial Controller or equivalent) within a listed company or large multinational group. Proven track record in managing large teams and overseeing complex group structures with 100+ subsidiaries, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional environment. Deep knowledge of Hong Kong listing rules, international accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate finance best practices. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced setting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder management at board and executive levels. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel; familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus. Fluency in English and Mandarin/Cantonese; international experience is advantageous.
