Engineer/ Senior Engineer, Treasury Technology Balyasny Asset Management (BAM) is a global, multi-strategy investment Firm with over $25 billion in assets under management. Today, BAM employs more than 160 portfolio managers and 1,200 investment professionals across 23 offices in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. We are active across six investing strategies: Equities Long/Short, Equities Arbitrage, Macro, Commodities, Systematic, and Growth Equity. We also have a dedicated private investment team, BAM Elevate, and a standalone equities unit, Corbets Capital. The Treasury Technology Team at Balyasny is responsible for building and supporting a world-class suite of tools for our Treasury and Financing teams, managing cash positions for the Firm to optimize costs. We are looking for an experienced and eager developer to join our team in supporting this mandate. Role Overview: Work with Financial Analysts to design and construct cutting edge front office applications Develop systems to enhance alpha generation, leverage borrow markets and optimize firm balance sheet Collaborate in a fast-paced team environment to understand, engineer, and deliver on business requirements Full lifecycle development including requirement, architecture, implementation, testing, and release Work with diverse sources of internal & external Portfolio Finance specific data to produce quantitative metrics to inform Portfolio Finance decision making Strike a balance along the dimensions of feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market when delivering solutions Core Tech Stack: Python based financing tools and processes Docker containerization SQL, MongoDB, and Redis data storage Linux and Windows OS Qualifications & Requirements: 3+ years of work experience as a backend Developer with a focus on python Bachelor’s in computer science or closely related field Experience architecting and building backend applications beginning from the design phase through implementation Experience with code optimization and performance tuningStrong knowledge of MSSQL. Specifically query building, table design and performance tuning Understanding of the full scope of application development (authentication, integrating with APIs, build process, testing, validation, state management) Experience with source code control (Git experience preferred) Eager to learn and take initiative Analytical skills – Ability to troubleshoot and logically assess problems and determine solutions Documentation skills – ability to represent ideas, requirements and problems in a clear and concise manner Additional experience in the following areas is a plus: Experience building Restful APIs Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database technologies Experience with Equity Financing based systems a big plus Experience working with financial market data from Bloomberg, Reuters or other similar sources Experience with hedge fund industry or other financial instruments/software (research, risk management, portfolio accounting, reconciliation, order management, etc.) Seniority level Associate Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
