The ideal candidate will be a patient and detail‑oriented artisan who finds joy in the process of bringing textile designs to life, from concept to finished sample. Key Responsibilities Design Support: Work closely with the Lead Craft Designer to understand and execute their creative vision for various projects. Weaving & Stitching Execution: Create high‑quality samples and prototypes using techniques such as pattern weaving, macramé, embroidery, and hand‑stitching. Material Preparation: Assist in preparing materials for projects, including warping looms, cutting yarns/threads, and sourcing appropriate textiles. Technique Development: Experiment with different weaving patterns, knotting techniques (macramé), and stitches to achieve desired textures and visual effects. Quality & Precision: Ensure all crafted pieces meet high standards of quality, consistency, and attention to detail. Process Documentation: Help maintain clear records of techniques, material specifications, and design processes for replication and reference. Studio Maintenance: Contribute to the organization and upkeep of the craft studio, including inventory management of tools and materials. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience and a strong portfolio demonstrating skill in weaving (especially pattern weaving) and macramé . Exceptional hand‑stitching and fine‑motor skills. Meticulous attention to detail and a keen eye for color, texture, and composition. Immense patience and a methodical approach to time‑consuming, detailed craft work. Ability to follow instructions precisely while also contributing creative problem‑solving. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Desired Attributes A calm, focused, and dedicated work ethic. A genuine passion for textile arts and craft processes. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit. Previous experience in a design studio or assistant role is a plus, but not required. What We Offer A fixed‑term, 6‑month contract with a competitive salary.
