Officer / Assistant Officer - Sports Development & Education (Pro Shop) Oversee all Pro Shop activities, including opening/closing procedures, sales targets, and compliance with club policies. Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and profitability. Train, supervise, and evaluate Pro‑Shop staff. Foster a motivated team environment, create and manage staff roster; conduct performance reviews to ensure high standards of service. Lead by example in delivering a premium, five-star experience for all patrons and guests. Handle escalated inquiries, resolve complaints, and build relationships with patrons and guests to promote loyalty and repeat business. Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and upselling techniques. Analyse sales data, set revenue goals, and collaborate with Academy marketing to launch campaigns, events, or special offers. Manage inventory levels, procurement, and vendor relationships. Conduct audits, forecast demand, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure product quality and variety meet member needs. Prepare budgets, track expenses, and generate reports on sales, inventory, and financial performance. Use POS systems and retail software to monitor metrics and identify improvement opportunities. Ensure the Pro Shop adheres to health, safety, and legal standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure environment. Perform any ad‑hoc task assigned by superior. Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, sports management, or a related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with substantial experience. 3–5 years in retail management, ideally in a sports or pro shop setting (e.g., golf or tennis retail). Supervisory experience leading a team is essential. Strong leadership and motivational abilities with experience in team development. Advanced knowledge of retail operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and financial analysis. Ability to multitask, prioritize and can‑do attitude. Proficiency in POS systems, retail software tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to drive business growth. Deep passion for sports and understanding of industry trends (e.g., equipment brands, apparel lines). Willingness to work on a shift basis, including nights, weekend, and public holiday. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Officer.
