Department: Chief Executive's Policy Unit Salary: HK$35,080 - $47,010 per month, depending on experience Qualification Requirements: Honours Degree Entry Requirements: a first or second class honours bachelor’s degree, from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent (See Note 1); proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, Level 2 or above in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent (See Note 2); good interpersonal and presentation skills; strong interest in and/or track record of socio-economic research; strong interest in public affairs and policy; and good knowledge in computer applications and proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage. (Remark: Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.) Note: Candidates expecting to obtain the required academic qualifications within the current academic year (i.e. 2025/26) may apply. For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. Duties: To assist in conducting research projects through literature review, data collection, and coordinating relevant activities, including liaison with research organisations; To assist in writing up reports; To provide technical and logistic support for research projects; and To provide secretariat support for various committees, working groups and panels. Fringe Benefits: In addition to general holidays, maternity/paternity leave and sickness allowance, 14 days’ paid annual leave will be granted under a continuous contract of employment for every 12 months. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. This gratuity, if granted, plus the Government’s contributions to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
