Our client, a leading banking institution, is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join their in‑house legal team. The role will support a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contract review, general banking documentation, loan-related work, and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior legal professional to gain well‑rounded exposure within a reputable financial institution. Description Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., vendor contracts, service agreements, procurement contracts). Support business units by providing legal advice on contract terms, risks, and compliance requirements. Assist in maintaining contract templates and ensuring alignment with internal policies Support the preparation, review, and execution of standard banking documentation. Assist in reviewing term sheets, facility letters, and loan agreements under the supervision of senior counsel. Provide legal support to front‑office teams on day‑to‑day banking transactions. Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory developments relevant to the banking sector. Assist with interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements (e.g., HKMA, SFC). Support internal stakeholders on regulatory filings, compliance reviews, and policy updates. Provide general legal support to various business and operational units. Assist in drafting internal legal guidelines, precedents, and knowledge management materials. Coordinate with external counsel when necessary and support litigation or dispute‑related matters (if any). Profile Qualified lawyer of HK with 2+ PQE, ideally, with experience gained from reputable law firms or in‑house. Good knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations and financial services will be an advantage. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
