As the Lead of the Data Science Team at Lalamove, you will be managing the team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to support various functional departments at our headquarters and offices around the world. You will play a key role in making our products and services intelligent through the development and deployment of data-driven solutions. You will tackle diverse challenges such as Driver Selection, ETA prediction, Fraud Detection, Vehicle Routing Problem, OCR applications, and other AI-driven initiatives. With the rapid advancement of Generative AI, you will also lead efforts to integrate these latest technologies into our business use cases. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of leading AI and machine learning projects that deliver measurable business value. What you'll do Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating the latest AI technologies into real business use cases, particularly in Generative AI. Lead, mentor and grow a team of data scientists and machine learning engineers. Formulate, plan and prioritize data science projects in alignment with organizational goals. Design and refine the MLOps workflow to ensure scalability, reliability, and high availability of our machine learning services. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of data science capabilities into products and platforms. Adapt quickly to changing priorities and be ready to roll up your sleeves when needed. What you will need: 6+ years of hands‑on experience in data science or machine learning, with a proven track record of deploying and maintaining production‑grade AI systems. Demonstrated experience in applying Generative AI to business problems, in areas such as RAG, voice models (real‑time or ASR/TTS‑based), and AI agents. Strong understanding of machine learning lifecycle management and best practices in MLOps. Familiarity with frameworks, libraries and models used in OCR, computer vision, NLP, and machine learning. Experience with leveraging ML services on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is preferred. Good command of English and Mandarin.
