Objective
As the Business Development Manager, you will work with the Senior Business Development Director to expand the skincare and cosmetic product portfolio beyond the Asia region, bringing in North American, European, and Australasian brands to our product lineup. This will further drive YesStyle to become a leading global skincare/cosmetic and lifestyle brand for customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Senior Business Development Director to achieve departmental KPIs, including sales and margin.
- Support the development of new relationships with beauty and skincare brands in North America, Europe, and Australasia, following the identification of brand opportunities by SBDD. Assist in conducting cold calls to connect with targeted new brands.
- Ensure the effective delivery and implementation of plans concerning categories, brands, assortment, and promotions on our platforms, including YesStyle.com and AsianBeautyWholesale.com.
- Maintain brand strategies and serve as the daily point of contact for communication with existing brand partners. Identify and implement growth strategies for brands, encompassing product and promotion plans.
- Continuously evaluate brand performance, identify growth opportunities, and take appropriate actions to ensure robust brand deliverables. This includes, but is not limited to, negotiating brand support, reviewing product assortment, enhancing marketing and promotional visibility, and improving logistics efficiency.
- Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product Teams, Marketing, Content Team, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Strategy/Business Planning, to ensure seamless implementation of brand growth plans.
- Work closely with Product Teams to ensure the flawless execution of brand and product listings and promotions on company platforms. Monitor and forecast inventory levels, ensure sufficient stock to support sales targets, and develop plans to minimize aged stock.
- Compile business data, analyze trends, and create reports to assist the business development team in strategy building and decision-making processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and competitor strategies; support SBDD to anticipate opportunities and challenges.
- Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture in the organization.
Requirements
- University degree in a business discipline.
- 5-8 years of business development experience in developing new brands in the FMCG, skincare, and/or beauty sector. Experience working with brand partners outside of Asia is important.
- Financial and analytical competence, with a category and brand management background preferred.
- Proactive attitude and entrepreneurial thinking with the passion to drive growth in a company in a targeted manner.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills to work with an international team and build business partnerships.
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize; detail-minded.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French, Spanish, or Italian is a plus.
