Overview Associate, Client Service at HarbourVest Partners. This role supports HarbourVest’s institutional clients by partnering with Account Managers and internal teams to manage daily inquiries and deliver a high-quality client experience. The position involves coordinating key client activities such as onboarding, reporting, and portfolio reviews, while maintaining strong relationships and ensuring timely, accurate service across functions. Responsibilities Work closely with Account Managers and HarbourVest functional teams to complete daily client inquiries across all types of funds and accounts. Develop a strong understanding of the client journey within private markets asset management, including onboarding, capital calls, distributions, reporting, and portfolio reviews. Collaborate with investment, solutions, accounting, treasury, tax, legal, compliance, and marketing teams to deliver client service. Be the face of HarbourVest to clients, demonstrating strong relationship-building and client service skills. Service and Client Relationship Management (90%) Build and maintain strong external and internal relationships; listen to, understand, and respond to clients’ needs. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on client requirements and ensure excellent client experience. Partner with Account Managers to support client engagement and establish clear communication channels. Act as a proactive, collaborative teammate, assisting with workload rebalancing and high-priority items; coordinate with regional colleagues as needed. Utilize HarbourVest systems and procedures to triage inquiries, coordinate recurring requests, and deliver timely service. Analyze client needs and determine solutions; exercise sound business judgment on potential impacts. Independently handle requests following defined client service procedures and engage functional teams when needed. Client Relationship Management (10%) Assist Account Managers with existing client engagements by providing insights and flagging potential concerns for ongoing meetings. Assist with information for prospective clients about the client service model and involved service teams, including participation in calls or meetings as part of the Account Team. What you bring Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong client relationship and management skills. Familiarity with investment concepts; comfortable with numbers and analysis. Excellent written, comprehension, and verbal communication skills. Language skills are a plus (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc.). Strong technical skills; familiarity with business process technology and Salesforce a plus. Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills; strong teamwork across functions. Education and Experience Education Preferred: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or equivalent experience. Experience: 3-5 years in financial services, client service, or operations; private equity or investment management experience preferred.
