My client, a global hedge fund with a reputable brand name, are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented real-time market data engineer to enhance their team. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on development expertise, along with a solid technical foundation and experience in creating scalable software solutions for distribution systems. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication abilities, adept multitasking skills, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The role: 

  • Design and implement real-time multi-asset data feed handlers for both exchange and vendor products across global markets including Japan, Hong Kong, Refinitiv, B-Pipe, among others.
  • Collaborate with a talented team to develop a high-performance, low-latency distribution system that ensures real-time market data delivery to both systematic and non-systematic clients.
  • Provide production support by promptly troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Partner with infrastructure teams to keep the system current and capable of meeting the performance, scalability, and reliability requirements of the software.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of delivered market data by instituting effective validation and monitoring processes.
  • Manage designated projects by coordinating with stakeholders, product managers, and other engineering teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver comprehensive results.

What you offer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in real-time market data systems.
  • Must have expert proficiency in C++.
  • In -depth knowledge of memory management, threading models, CPU core alignment, and NUMA node architecture.
  • Strong understanding of real-time distribution models and network transport protocols, with experience in distribution frameworks being an advantage.
  • Familiarity with feed handlers, various market data types, symbol segmentation, and A/B arbitration is beneficial.
  • Experience with exchange or vendor market data protocols or messaging systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Python or Java would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
