Role Objective:

We promote collaboration through cross-functional squads to release the value of our work throughout the organisation, embedding our work inside business processes. The Head of Centre of Excellence - Data Chapter is responsible for leading a team of data specialists with specific workstreams for data science, campaign science and data infrastructure. This function sits inside the Data Chapter and drives value for: a) multiple lines of business by delivering use cases or executing BAU business processes and b) other data specialists in the Data Chapter who are aligned to different lines of business, where the CoE acts as a service for other data specialists to consume.

Responsibilities:
• Design and implement the roadmap for the CoE to fulfil its role as a team of experts in specific analytics capabilities
• Span and apply these capabilities across a wider analytics team and multiple business units
• Lead and develop teams in the fields of Marketing Campaign Science, Data Science and Analytics Infrastructure (data platform, business data layers)
• Identify, plan and implement the roadmap to bring in other, appropriate capabilities to the CoE
• Implement an effective operating model to integrate with Group Analytics teams
• Where necessary, act as Single Point of Contact for various business unit senior stakeholders on specific topics and regional counterparts
• Be an ambassador for the team, both within the Data Chapter and with business units
• Oversee the process to determine the right things to work on across competing business agendas
• Operate existing controls and design new controls to manage operational risk across our processes
• Be a senior, visible leader across the Data Chapter
• Drive a culture of learning and career development across a large team
• Work closely with key stakeholders and the Data Chapter leadership team to deliver on its vision as a high performing team of data specialists that extract value from data across every line of business

Requirements:
• Deep expert in more than one of: marketing analytics, data science, data platforms
• Previous experience with data specialist workflows, languages and tools: pyspark, SQL or similar, data engineering, adhoc analytics, campaign management, data visualisation with Qlik/Tableau/PowerBI etc, cloud data services, data architecture concepts
• Extensive experience in data and analytics in a complex business environment, financial services experience preferred (ideal is any combination of retail, commercial, institutional, markets)
• Demonstrated understanding of a business domain eg product, sales process, pricing, risk management, digital channels, proposition, etc.
• Developing relationships with senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership and change management at scale in the field of data
• Demonstrated experience at effectively integrating data solutions into an end-to-end business process
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex environments
• Develop and enrich the careers of high performers in the team
