Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This position requires strong accounting skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a multi-national environment.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will develop and enhance your accounting and finance skills while learning to communicate effectively with colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds. You will collaborate with colleagues from various departments and locations, and understand international accounting standards and regulatory requirements. These skills and experiences will be invaluable in your future career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and perform account reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and other financial reports for management and external stakeholders
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, and maintain accurate records of vendor and customer accounts
  • Manage cash flow by monitoring cash balances and reconciling bank statements
  • Provide support for audit, tax, and other regulatory compliance activities
  • Draft financial agreements, ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the superior or other members of the management team
  • Perform company administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree
  • Proficiency in Excel and MS Word
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organization skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in working with large amounts of financial data
  • High levels of ethics and integrity in handling sensitive financial information
  • Strong sense of responsibility, able to work independently, well organized, positive thinking and self-motivated 
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred
