Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Solutions Engineer.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative analyses to support development of investment solutions and strategies by HSBC Asset Management
• Provide advisory services to institutional clients: ALM studies, Strategic Asset Allocation advisory or fixed income portfolio construction
• Assist in the quantitative design of investment solutions for wholesale sector (e.g. retirement and capital protected solutions)
• Directly contribute to the on-going development of the quantitative and analysis toolkit of the Global Solutions team
• Support solution strategists and sales teams in acquisition projects and strategic dialogues with clients
• Contributing to the integration of climate objectives into the investment processes of HSBC Asset Management, in particular integrating climate objectives in HSBC Asset Management's asset liability and strategic allocation advisory approach
• Close cooperation with other investment capabilities (e.g. in the design of products for specific client groups such as insurance companies or pension funds)
• Close cooperation with the Solutions Portfolio Management team and the Sales Teams in growing and further developing the investment solution business
• Being part of a global team with global responsibilities

Requirements

• 4-5 years relevant experience in Finance / Insurance / Consulting
• Good mathematical / analytical skills, e.g. a degree in actuarial studies, mathematics or physics
• Good programming experience, particularly any experience in Python, Matlab would be a plus
• First hand experience in ALM/SAA with knowledge of monte-carlo simulations and financial models
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to operate within a global team
• High degree of proactivity and flexibility
