Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our client's Risk Management Department as an AVP/VP in Enterprise Risk Control. This role is essential for enhancing the bank's risk governance framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while managing a comprehensive approach to enterprise risk.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead high-priority initiatives focused on regulatory compliance to strengthen the bank's risk governance framework, including policies and procedures.
  2. Implement processes to improve oversight of the bank's overall risk landscape, including managing the Risk Appetite Framework and addressing Top and Emerging Risks.
  3. Drive impactful results for projects and initiatives, effectively communicating recommendations to senior management and providing updates to external stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with the Risk team to identify and devise solutions for key risks, ensuring proactive management of Top and Emerging Risks.
  5. Prepare and deliver presentations for senior management and committee materials, fulfilling secretariat responsibilities as needed.
  6. Serve as a second line of defense (SLOD) for the Risk team, reviewing and challenging the first line across various business functions.
  7. Oversee various risk types, including Model Risk Management, Reputational Risk, New Product Risk Analysis, ESG Risk, and other enterprise risks as assigned.
  8. Develop and maintain a robust risk assessment framework to ensure that risks are identified, measured, and monitored effectively across the organization.
  9. Foster a risk-aware culture within the bank by providing training and guidance on best practices in risk management.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, law, or a related field; ECF certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise risk management, risk governance, consulting, or regulatory roles within the banking sector in Hong Kong.
  3. Strong understanding of Hong Kong banking regulations pertaining to risk management, including familiarity with HKMA supervisory policies.
  4. Excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively; a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  5. Adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, while meeting strict deadlines.
