Operations Manager (Regional Telecom Carrier) - IC

Job Description

Objectives

  1. Support the operations and maintenance activities of network/hosting infrastructure, and in-country customer fronting & support.
  2. Understanding of multi-networking infrastructures, systems, links and facilities required for providing Telco WAN, data, voice, hosting, cloud and internet services (e.g. MMR, Switch support activities).
  3. Provide pre-sales support to Product and Sales regarding colocation services.
  4. Provide post-sales operations support to corporate customers.
  5. Promote and drive working relationships with local carriers/service providers, Joint-Venture Partners, and equipment vendors to build/influence good rapport in the interests of the Group.
  6. Manage DC operation-related costs (Capex and Opex) within allocated budget.
  7. Negotiate with local suppliers and service providers for local operations procurement/contract renewal, to achieve quality and cost-effective operations resources delivery.
  8. Daily housekeeping/maintenance of DC infrastructure facilities (Power, air-con, cooling, etc.) and customer hosted equipment 1st level/remote hands support and site access/visits.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Data Center environment facilities and maintenance to ensure facility stability.
  2. Responsible for Data Center physical security, including physical access and security monitoring.
  3. Ensure all activities in Data Center are properly approved and logged.
  4. Responsible for incident management process; act as incident manager to ensure all production incidents are properly followed up in a timely manner and resolved with solutions.
  5. Responsible for the layout and inventory in Data Center.
  6. Manage suppliers to ensure all purchases for Data Center have high-cost efficiency and high service level.
  7. Provide pre-sales support for RFQ and RFP activities.
  8. Responsible for ISO 27001 internal and external audits.
  9. Handle OPEX and CAPEX.
  10. Develop/document procedures to streamline interworking process flow to achieve continuous improvement in operation efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of service for our customers.
  11. Track and monitor the team's operation KPIs targets' achievement.
  12. Ensure maintenance/upkeep of proper records of all Data Center activities and records of customer information, capital assets, and other relevant inventories.
  13. Ensure timely submission of relevant reports as required by the customer or management.
  14. Ensure an effective Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and DR plan is always in place and well known by all the staff.
  15. Perform risk analysis and assessment to the operations, plan and execute the corresponding responses plan.
  16. Any other duties as assigned by the team leader/Technical Director.

Job Requirements

  1. Degree in Electronic/Telecommunication/ICT or equivalent.
  2. Knowledge of Data Centre operations and ISO27001 is required.
  3. CCNA certification or equivalent would be an advantage.
  4. Resourceful, innovative, and independent worker.
  5. High customer service focus and engagement skills.
  6. Knowledge of Power, HVAC, Fire Suppression System, and Servers knowledge would be an advantage.
  7. Possess good leadership, teamwork, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.
  8. Good oral and written communication skills in English, Mandarin & local native language.
  9. Minimum 3-4 years related working experience in the telecommunication service industry or Data Center operation.
