Our Graduate Trainee Programme is a comprehensive 18-month program designed to provide ambitious and driven graduates with an understanding of the media advertising landscape. You'll gain hands-on experience across key areas of our business through a rotation program, developing a broad skillset and building a strong foundation for a successful career in media. You will develop skills in our key practice areas: Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, AdTech Operations, and Media Buying.

Reporting of the role

You will be shadowing from a group of talented senior expertise from biddable and non-biddable teams.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Graduate Trainee, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively participating in all training sessions and workshops, and attain internal and external certifications.
  • Proactively seeking out opportunities to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, agencies, and partners to support planning, execution, and optimization of advertising campaigns to achieve common goals.
  • Perform day-to-day ad-trafficking tasks, including ad tags with creative assets and tracking pixels, provide tagging advice and assist on troubleshooting.
  • Execute performance campaigns on major biddable platforms (e.g. Google, Microsoft Advertising, Meta) across all GroupM agencies.
  • Analyze campaign performance data and identify trends and insights. Provide actionable suggestions to improve optimizations and future campaign brief recommendations.
  • Position self as a trusted advisor to clients and GroupM agencies, demonstrating the ability to provide recommendations and POVs to clients from an implementation and buying perspective.
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and placement with various media vendors (e.g. TV, print, outdoor, radio, digital) to secure optimal value and reach.
  • Purchase advertising spaces, monitor and optimize the performance of the campaign based on pre-aligned metrics.
  • Foster strong relationships with external media partners and agency partners to ensure smooth campaign implementation and buying.
  • Work with high-profile local and global brand clients and contribute to the creation of client presentations and reports.

After 18 months of training, you will be able to handle:

  • Campaign Management: Independently develop and execute strategies and activation across different platforms, monitor and report the performance across multiple brands.
  • Multitasking and Prioritization: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and meeting expectations.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze campaign data on various platforms to identify trends and insights, developing and implementing optimization strategies to achieve client KPIs.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Facilitate continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team and broader organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively work within and lead cross-functional teams involving clients, internal teams, and media owners.
  • Team Development: Share knowledge and support to enhance other team member's media skills.

Who are we looking for?

  • Final year students graduating in May/June 2025.
  • Early career movers with 1-2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, and Business is preferred although this programme is open to graduates from all majors.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients and different stakeholders. Fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese.
