We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Student Affairs Office:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementing comprehensive support services for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN);
  • Providing individual sessions and support to SEN students to enhance their academic and personal growth;
  • Coordinating with faculty, staff, and external agencies to ensure the provision of appropriate accommodations and resources;
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of student interactions, support plans, and progress;
  • Advocating for the needs of SEN students within the university community;
  • Staying updated with current legislation, best practices, and trends in SEN support and services; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.

Candidates

  • A recognized degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline, preferably with a higher degree;
  • A diploma in SEN, along with substantial experience in providing guidance, will be advantageous;
  • Strong understanding of SEN issues, accommodations, and support strategies;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
  • Proven ability to develop and implement support programmes and initiatives for SEN students;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrated advocacy skills and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility; and
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for record-keeping and communication.

Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Part-time Assistant Student Affairs Manager.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
