Major Duties

: The successful appointee shall engage in the planning, development, implementation and review of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Public Relations and International Events Management programmes with Medium of Instruction in English and Putonghua respectively. The appointee will need to provide strong academic leadership in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies; programme and curriculum design and development, taking part in teaching and supervising student projects and works; delivering quality programme; student recruitment; fostering a culture of teamwork and building a disciplined team; leading the team in programme accreditation and validation; and leading and participating in scholarly activities, including but not limited to applied research, consultancy, networking and collaboration with industry, professional bodies, government bodies and/or other educational institutes to achieve outcomes. The successful appointee will also be expected to maintain close contacts with industry, commerce, and other educational institutes on collaborative arrangement to promote and ensure the relevance and excellence of the programme. Experience in Public Relations, Marketing, International Events Management or relevant disciplines, and a deep understanding of public relations and its work practices is preferred. Requirements : (a) A recognised PhD degree in one or more of the following fields: International Events Management, MICE, Customer Relationship Management, Public Relations, Communication or related fields; (b) Competence in high-quality research and publish in both top-tier public relations/international events management and/or hospitality/tourism journals; (c) Rich experience in, with a demonstrable track record of teaching and programme management, including programme development and accreditation, and implementation of teaching and learning strategies in higher education; (d) Good professional standing with strong industry networks, achievements in scholarship and/or professional practice and applied research activities in the relevant field; (e) Strong leadership, management, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong sense of responsibility; (f) Render services to advance community in Hong Kong, GBA and Asia; (g) High proficiency in both spoken Putonghua and written English/Chinese; and (h) The candidate should be native in Putonghua (mother tongue/language is Putonghua); or received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the medium of instruction was Putonghua; or have at least 3 years' work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions (Singapore, Taiwan, Macao, etc); or attained Grade B / Level 2 or above in the Putonghua Proficiency Test or Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) / Level 3 or above in the Assessment Papers of the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (Putonghua). Notes : (1) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays. (2) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. (3) The appointee will work on Chai Wan Campus.
