Duties Offer strategic and intellectual direction for the development of SDS to be in line with the University Strategic Plan; Champion the adoption of holistic student development/education on campus and maintain a caring campus culture; Maintain effective and positive relationships with academic/administrative units, employers, students and student bodies; Anticipate and meet students’ financial and non-financial needs for professional/personal development; Contribute to the formulation of policies and operational strategies on matters related to student services and students in general; Enhance the international and regional perspective and exposure of students; Maintain quality facilities for counselling, employment, sports and culture purposes, and offer quality personal and career development and physical education programmes; Enhance the image of the University through constant collaboration with external organisations and professional associations, performance of sports teams and representation at external formal functions; Provide direct supervision of four associate directors in charge of counselling, career and leadership, student life and resources, and physical education and sports respectively; and Maintain the professional competence, ethics and commitment of SDS staff.

Requirements

A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline; At least 15 years’ experience in the provision of human development services, especially young people, at management level; Proven leadership and people management skills at senior professional level; Experience in liaising with industry, community and engaging in international outreach; Effective at individual, group, departmental and University committee setting; and Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
