Major Duties

: The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project and is expected to assist the PI in the development and co-ordination of research activities and daily operations in relations to the research projects “A Study of Temperature and Relative Humidity Effect on Strength Development of Low Carbon Concrete”. He/she will be required to: (a) carry out research activities, such as casting and testing concrete, for research project; (b) arrange reimbursement of expenditures as arising from the research project; and (c) assist in writing reports, analyzing results of research studies, and drafting manuscripts and presentation materials for publication. Requirements : For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Master’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or relevant disciplines, or a recognized degree in related disciplines with relevant work experience; or equivalent. For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have a sub-degree, preferably a recognised degree, in civil engineering, structural engineering, or relevant disciplines, or equivalent level of study. He/she should have background knowledge and skills in structural design and finite element analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with fluent written and spoken English or Cantonese. Notes : (1) Candidates may be appointed on temporary or part-time employment. (2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary. (3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
